BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Children living in a transitional home in West Baltimore get a very cool treat. Jessica Kartalija reports thanks to Baltimore-based Under Armour, kids were treated to a day of play. A fun day of play, the Under Armour way. “I think it’s important that we as individuals are spreading the importance of health and fitness and healthy living,” said Noreen Naroo-Pucci, Under Armour creative director. More than two dozen volunteers from the Baltimore-based company spent the day with children at the Volunteers of America Chesapeake’s Pratt House–a transitional home for families.
I am writing to highly recommend David Felzenberg, "Bubbles The Clown" for an assembly regarding financial literacy. Mr. Felzenberg has made two appearances for our students at Hampstead Hill Academy, and both times he entertained as a clown and kept our students engaged while teaching about the value of money. Our History

Established in 2009, It’s About The Kids Education Organization, Inc. is a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide innovative educational programs for young people in the Baltimore area. What makes our programs innovative is that we use the performing art of clowning to convey messages of financial literacy, reading literacy, childhood obesity prevention, and environmental education.
Our programs captivate children in and engage them in the education programs by using magic, balloons, and props. You can see in the eyes of the kids and their interaction as they learn valuable information and skills while they are having fun. The feedback from teachers, parents, and community members has been very positive.

Bubbles The Clown feels passionately that young people need to learn about financial literacy. As an educator as well as an entertainer, Bubbles wants youth to learn the basics of money management. Young people, even at a very early age, are very interested in money. They want to learn about how to manage money properly, and Bubbles The Clown knows how to teach youth to make intelligent financial choices. In his financial literacy program, Bubbles The Clown uses magic tricks, a real rabbit, balloons, puppets, and props to teach the concepts of saving, spending, donating, and investing money. Among other topics, children see how money magically multiplies by saving money and opening a savings account. Bubbles The Clown encourages audience participation. The children identify money dominations, they learn that there is a treasure of information in books about saving money. When they read books about saving money, they get a wealth of information just like there is wealth in a treasure chest. The children have so much fun while they are learning, they don’t even think about it as learning! I had the pleasure of hosting the Know Money or No Money program, held at the Perry Hall branch of the Baltimore County Public Library on Friday, October 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. David Felzenberg, also known as “Bubbles,” delighted and entertained a crowd of over 50 people, varying ages from preschoolers to seniors. He presented the concepts of saving versus spending, investing, and donating money using props and magic tricks that held the attention of all in attendance. He had various opportunities for the children to actively participate in the program, which made it even more fun. At the end of the program, Bubbles introduced the audience to Jacob, the live rabbit. Many parents and caregivers were very impressed, and appreciated that the library offered a program about teaching children to save money. It is never too early to introduce children to the crucial topic of financial literacy, and because of its fun and engaging approach, the Know Money or No Money program should be showcased in schools and libraries everywhere. I highly recommend this program for any grant considerations. If there are any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. — Julie Pressley, Librarian III, Baltimore County Public Library
In addition to being fun and entertaining, your presentation was very educational. Your lesson was the perfect way to begin a unit about conservation and environmental awareness.
Environmental Awareness Program Testimonial Letter for our Environmental Awareness Program: “I would like to thank you for visiting my school on Wednesday, April 23, 2013. Your presentation on water conservation was very informative and exciting. The children loved the colorful visuals, the props, and your jokes. Unfortunately, my students rarely get to see a performer quite like you but I am glad that they were treated to this opportunity. Your act was fun and fast paced and kept the children engaged and excited about what was coming next, and you certainly did not disappoint. In addition to being fun and entertaining, your presentation was very educational. Your lesson was the perfect way to begin a unit about conservation and environmental awareness. We often refer to the activities from your lesson as well as the water cycle visual/guide you left with us during our regular classroom instruction. Whenever a guest entered our room, they couldn’t stop talking about you. This experience will stay with them for a very long time and the information you shared will become very useful as they grow as responsible citizens of the world. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us.” — Teacher, Baltimore City Public School April 23, 2013 Call today at 410-719-1405 or 301-641-7248 or e-mail us at bubbles.the.clown@verizon.net to get the date and time that you want Bubbles to come to your event.
In his reading literacy program, Bubbles uses magic, puppets, props, and games to involve children in the program. The children love learning about the treasures they find in a library, and the Mother Goose Magic Coloring Book is a real hit.
